Steam Boat becoming my Love Boat!

The Asian Box has always been one of my go to places for Asian food. Their Khao Suey is and will always be my comfort food. That aromatic Coconutty curry with the crunch of fresh veggies and the juicy chicken accompanied by condiments fried to perfection! 🙂

Another one of their winning dishes for me is the “Mango chilli Chicken”. Its juicy chunks of chicken pan fried in the very popular Tasha & Girl’s Mango Chilli Jams! The sweet and spicy mix makes this dish a complete heart chaser!

… and this goes perfectly well with the TumYum Cocktail!

there’s lots more at The Asian Box, Baner and Koregaon Park that’s worth a visit.

The Baner one is definitely a lot more fancier and plush. It comes loaded with a sushi and regular bar! 🙂 Oh. The. Makis!

So Let me get to the point of what I’ve been trying to make. The Asian box is definitely the shizz. And just when you thought that it can’t get better, they introduce the Teppenyaki Steam Boat!

Photo taken from a Food Photographer.

This is, by far, the meanest live grill I’ve had in the city! Its basically a set up at your table, with a boiling pot of soup in the middle and a grill on the sides for you to cook your own meats and veggies!

They serve you a variety of meats and veggies in various marinades (Raw, might i add) that you can slowly grill and serve yourself.

The steamboat comes with unlimited soup (either clear broth or Tom Yum) and noodles priced at 429/- per head!

You can then call for wantons or veggies to dunk in the soup or use the grill on the sides to cook your meats! and they are charged as per portion!

The Marinades include Ginger Soy and chilli Garlic with the chicken, Black bean for the fish, Sambal and Oyster for the prawns (Which were my favoritest!) and the awesome sauce – Chilli Bean for the lamb! UFF!

For vegetarians, yes I did try it for the benefit of the veggies! 😦 but it was sooo good! Im glad i tried it. The BBQ Potatoes and Tofu Chilli Soy.

My recommendation – Make sure you char the potatoes, fish and tofu – it tastes divine!

So yes! this experience is definitely worth a try and worth going for, second time round too. Dheeraj and Priya are perfect hosts and hand hold you through the way.

Go. Now! and yea, don’t forget to have my personal favorite – Pandan Pannacotta for dessert. Your trip is incomplete without this sweetness!
